This animation was inspired the visual album for Beach House's visual album, 7. I wanted to create something in the same style, using the limited color palette. The original image was created in Illustrator, although it only contained one diamond shape, 14 lines, and a layer of shading. I used masking to create the motion on each of the diamond shapes in a single composition, then used multiple compositions to create the combined shape. The gif was exported through Photoshop.

EDIT: When I returned to clean up the project file for release, I want to correct a few issues. There were a few points where the lines didn't quite line up, and I wanted to get it right. One thing led to another, and I created an entirely new version. That new, cleaned-up version, is available below for download. The original version is still hosted on my website here.
